I started keeping a journal when I was fifteen. At the time I did it because it felt right. I had no idea what mental medicine it really was. It wasn't until after college that I looked back, read . . . more

About Me
-
Describe Yourself:I am a chronic daydreamer, and I have somehow been able to parlay this into a career as a writer. My first book (For the Love of Letters: A 21st-Century Guide to the Art of Letter Writing) came out this past spring and my second book (Note to Self: On Keeping a Journal and Other Dangerous Pursuits) is due out next summer. The first book is less of a letter writing "how to" and more of Cyrano de Bergerac meets Sex and the City. The second book features all the sex, drugs, and spiritual musings you'd hope to find in someone else's journal. My writing style is anachronistic and very personal. I also run a letter-writing service (as in, I offer to help people write letters if they're having trouble) at www.LetterLover.net.

On Gather, I'm Looking For ...:Kind people who love what they do and don't take life too seriously. Oh yes, and those willing to turn off their computers to write a good old-fashioned letter everyone once in a while.

Loy S., Jul 31, 2008, 11:55AM EDTI enjoyed your television interview on journaling.
You spoke of "stream of consciousness writing." I wish my stream on consciousness included editing the mess I touch-typed in the dark. :) -
Jennifer N., Jul 10, 2008, 4:18AM EDTSamara,

Andrea Grenadier, Jul 2, 2008, 7:13PM EDTThanks for your lovely comments, Samara! I'm so glad you liked it. I'm in the process of pulling a lot of my poems down so i can submit to journals, so I'm glad you read it!
I'm highly amused and distracted by Fred Flintstone, right beneath me.....
Cheers! -
Fred R., Jul 1, 2008, 10:25PM EDTGeorge W. Bush was out walking when he saw Moses.
"Hey, Moses! STOP!!" he yelled. But Moses walked on, ignoring him. After a few blocks, Bush caught up with him. "Moses, why didn't you stop and talk to me?" asked Bush. "Well,"
Moses replied, "the last time I talked to a bush, I wandered the desert for 40 years."
